SolarOS 4.17.7 manual · job

meshcore-ble

MeshCore companion-protocol client for a separate BLE radio device. The job connects to one explicit peer, synchronizes its contacts and channels, drains queued messages, and carries Chat messages through the standard MeshCore messaging provider.

Usage:

job start meshcore-ble <address> <public|random|rpa_public|rpa_random> [six-digit-pin]
job status meshcore-ble
job stop meshcore-ble

Example:

job start meshcore-ble 68:ee:8f:69:5f:35 public 123456
contacts
chat

The job requires BLE and PSRAM. The optional PIN requests Secure Connections pairing; inspect job status meshcore-ble and confirm encrypted=yes and bonded=yes. The PIN is retained only while the job runs, but the start command can remain in shell history. The worker reconnects with exponential backoff and coexists with the BLE keyboard; a concurrent keyboard connection attempt can delay a reconnect but does not tear down either established link.

meshcore and meshcore-ble are alternative transports for the same messaging provider and cannot run at the same time. Contacts, direct conversations, Chat, and Inbox remain provider-neutral. Channels and the external device's radio and identity are configured on the companion device; the meshcore shell command continues to configure only SolarOS's local packet-radio implementation. See meshcore.md for transport and security details.
