Usage
| Usage | Description |
|---|---|
sc2 id; sc2 status | Show this device's SC2 end-to-end identity (device ID, fingerprint, prekeys) and the service state. Creates the identity on first use. See man python.sc2. |
sc2 safety <peer> | Show the safety number shared with a stored peer, to compare out of band. <peer> is a 32-hex device ID, a unique prefix (6+ hex digits) of a known peer, or an alias. |
sc2 verify <peer>; sc2 unverify <peer> | Mark the safety number with a peer as compared (or take that back). Chat shows sc2 DMs as (verified) or (unverified); the record is kept in the SC2 store (up to 64 peers). Verifying needs the peer's keys (message it first). |
sc2 alias; sc2 alias <name> <peer>; sc2 alias <name> off | List, save or delete peer nicknames (up to 16, in the SC2 store) for sc2 safety and messages query <sc2-instance> <peer>. |
sc2 selftest; sc2 bench [n] | Run the SC2 known-answer and two-device session tests in RAM, or time the primitives and a DM/room round trip. Neither touches stored keys. |
sc2 room create ["name"] / sc2 room invite <room-id|name> / sc2 room join <sc2i:...|@file> / sc2 rooms | Create a private SC2 room, print its invite again, join with an invite, or list names, IDs and state. Quote names containing spaces (up to 48 UTF-8 bytes). Admission requires a valid end-to-end invite proof. Then messages send <conv> <text>; messages leave <conv> leaves. SC2 commands, peers and rooms support Tab completion. See man messaging. |
