sftp

Two-pane SFTP file manager with the same panes, file operations, progress, and key bindings as ftp. The left pane is local mounted storage and the right pane is a remote SSH server's SFTP subsystem. It uses the shared SSH transport, known-host policy, host aliases, and password or public-key authentication.

Usage:

sftp
sftp [user@]HOST[:PATH] [PORT] [--user USER] [--password PASSWORD] [--remote PATH] [--local PATH]

Press Tab after a host prefix to complete aliases from .ssh/hosts on the default storage. Completion preserves a supplied user@ prefix.

Starting without arguments opens the disconnected file manager. Press F2/n to enter the host, port, user, optional password, and initial remote path. Leave the password empty to use the configured SSH key. When user@ and --user are omitted from the command-line shortcut, SFTP uses the SolarOS identity user. A remote path can be appended to the host, for example sftp nils@remote:/directory; this form connects immediately and opens that directory. --remote PATH overrides an appended path. A command-line password remains in shell history; the connection form masks it. The active form field keeps a visible text cursor. If passwordless key authentication fails, SFTP reopens the form on the password field instead of showing a low-level error.

Controls are identical to FTP: F2/n opens connection setup; F3/V views, F5/C copies, F6/M moves, F7/k/K creates a directory, and F8/D deletes after confirmation. PgUp/PgDn moves by one visible page, Backspace opens the parent directory, and h toggles hidden files and directories in both panes. Space marks or unmarks files and directories and advances the cursor, as in Files. Copy, move, and delete operate on marked items in the active pane, or the current item if none are marked. Transfers are recursive, show progress, retain both pane positions after refresh, and stage downloaded and uploaded files before replacement. q, F10, or the app-exit key closes the SSH connection and exits.
